Chapter 5, Verse 91, The Table Spread
سورة المائدة
إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ أَن يُوقِعَ بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡعَدَٰوَةَ وَٱلۡبَغۡضَآءَ فِي ٱلۡخَمۡرِ وَٱلۡمَيۡسِرِ وَيَصُدَّكُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ وَعَنِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُم مُّنتَهُونَ
innama yureedu alshshaytanu an yooqiaaa baynakumu alaaadawata waalbaghdaa fee alkhamri waalmaysiri wayasuddakum aaan thikri allahi waaaani alssalati fahal antum muntahoona
Shaitan (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of allah and from As-Salat (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain?
Chapter 13, Verse 28, The Thunder
سورة الرعد
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَتَطۡمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۗ أَلَا بِذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ تَطۡمَئِنُّ ٱلۡقُلُوبُ
allatheena amanoo watatmainnu quloobuhum bithikri allahi ala bithikri allahi tatmainnu alquloobu
Those who believe (in the Oneness of allah - Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of allah, Verily, in the remembrance of allah do hearts find rest.
Chapter 18, Verse 46, The cave
سورة الكهف
ٱلۡمَالُ وَٱلۡبَنُونَ زِينَةُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ وَٱلۡبَٰقِيَٰتُ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ خَيۡرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابٗا وَخَيۡرٌ أَمَلٗا
Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the good righteous deeds (five compulsory prayers, deeds of allah's obedience, good and nice talk, remembrance of allah with glorification, praises and thanks, etc.), that last, are better with your Lord for rewards and better in respect of hope.
Chapter 21, Verse 42, The Prophets
سورة الأنبياء
قُلۡ مَن يَكۡلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعۡرِضُونَ
Say: "Who can guard and protect you in the night or in the day from the (punishment of the) Most Beneficent (allah)?" Nay, but they turn away from the remembrance of their Lord.
Chapter 24, Verse 37, The Light
سورة النور
رِجَالٞ لَّا تُلۡهِيهِمۡ تِجَٰرَةٞ وَلَا بَيۡعٌ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ وَإِقَامِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءِ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ يَخَافُونَ يَوۡمٗا تَتَقَلَّبُ فِيهِ ٱلۡقُلُوبُ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ
rijalun la tulheehim tijaratun wala bayaaun aaan thikri allahi waiqami alssalati waeetai alzzakati yakhafoona yawman tataqallabu feehi alquloobu waalabsaru
Men whom neither trade nor sale diverts them from the remembrance of allah (with heart and tongue), nor from performing As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), nor from giving the Zakat. They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will be overturned (from the horror of the torment of the Day of Resurrection).
Chapter 39, Verse 22, The Troops
سورة الزمر
أَفَمَن شَرَحَ ٱللَّهُ صَدۡرَهُۥ لِلۡإِسۡلَٰمِ فَهُوَ عَلَىٰ نُورٖ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦۚ فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلۡقَٰسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مِّن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍ
afaman sharaha allahu sadrahu lilislami fahuwa aaala noorin min rabbihi fawaylun lilqasiyati quloobuhum min thikri allahi olaika fee dalalin mubeenin
Is he whose breast allah has opened to Islam, so that he is in light from His Lord (as he who is non-Muslim)? So, woe to those whose hearts are hardened against remembrance of allah! They are in plain error!
Chapter 39, Verse 23, The Troops
سورة الزمر
ٱللَّهُ نَزَّلَ أَحۡسَنَ ٱلۡحَدِيثِ كِتَٰبٗا مُّتَشَٰبِهٗا مَّثَانِيَ تَقۡشَعِرُّ مِنۡهُ جُلُودُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُمۡ ثُمَّ تَلِينُ جُلُودُهُمۡ وَقُلُوبُهُمۡ إِلَىٰ ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ يَهۡدِي بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَمَن يُضۡلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنۡ هَادٍ
allahu nazzala ahsana alhadeethi kitaban mutashabihan mathaniya taqshaaairru minhu juloodu allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum thumma taleenu julooduhum waquloobuhum ila thikri allahi thalika huda allahi yahdee bihi man yashao waman yudlili allahu fama lahu min hadin
allah has sent down the best statement, a Book (this Quran), its parts resembling each other in goodness and truth, oft-repeated. The skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it (when they recite it or hear it). Then their skin and their heart soften to the remembrance of allah. That is the guidance of allah. He Guides therewith whom He pleases and whomever allah sends astray, for him there is no guide.
Chapter 43, Verse 36, Ornaments of Gold
سورة الزخرف
وَمَن يَعۡشُ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ نُقَيِّضۡ لَهُۥ شَيۡطَٰنٗا فَهُوَ لَهُۥ قَرِينٞ
And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (allah) (i.e. this Quran and worship of allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him.
Chapter 58, Verse 19, She that disputes
سورة المجادلة
ٱسۡتَحۡوَذَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ فَأَنسَىٰهُمۡ ذِكۡرَ ٱللَّهِۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ حِزۡبُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۚ أَلَآ إِنَّ حِزۡبَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
istahwatha aaalayhimu alshshaytanu faansahum thikra allahi olaika hizbu alshshaytani ala inna hizba alshshaytani humu alkhasiroona
Shaitan (Satan) has overtaken them. So he has made them forget the remembrance of allah. They are the party of Shaitan (Satan). Verily, it is the party of Shaitan (Satan) that will be the losers!
Chapter 63, Verse 9, The Hypocrites
سورة المنافقون
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تُلۡهِكُمۡ أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ وَلَآ أَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَمَن يَفۡعَلۡ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tulhikum amwalukum wala awladukum aaan thikri allahi waman yafaaal thalika faolaika humu alkhasiroona
O you who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of allah. And whosoever does that, then they are the losers.
